The Helldivers roadmap laid out over 60 days ago is finally set to come to life with a major update, intended to win back players with fresh changes and alterations to all of your favourite weapons.

It’s almost time for the promises of Arrowhead Game Studios to come into effect. took the gaming world by storm earlier this year, but as it debuted its first major content update titled , it simply didn’t meet expectations, and a number of bugs (not the fun, bullet-sponge kind) reared their ugly heads. Players were let down, and Arrowhead made clear that it wasn’t messing around with their disappointment. The team promised a and alterations to win back players’ trust, and while it has so far trended well with players, with a number of patches , and , there are still some issues that need looking at.

Helldivers 2 roadmap update release date

The Helldivers 2 roadmap update release date will be tomorrow on Tuesday, October 25

. The date was revealed by Helldivers 2 veterans Johan Pilestedt and Niklas Malmborg in a brand new video posted to the
. This release date does make the 60-day roadmap a 63-day roadmap, but we're sure there are more pressing issues than a few days of waiting for some fixes to the game.

Judging by the release times of previous Helldivers 2 updates, we can expect the update to launch around 10am BST / 5am EDT / 2am PDT

Helldivers 2 roadmap update early patch notes

In the new video, the Helldivers 2 has revealed a number of the exciting updates that they can expect to see in the upcoming patch. Here’s everything that Arrowhead has revealed to be coming in the Helldivers 2 roadmap update:

  • Flak will be introduced to the Autocannon

  • The Recoilless Rifle will be getting programmable ammunition

  • The Scorcher will be getting automatic fire

  • The Stalwart is getting “one of the nicest changes,” though we don’t know what that change is yet

  • Your backpack will be able to recall and redeploy your drone automatically

  • We’re sure that there are plenty of other fixes set to come to the game, resolving a number of balancing issues that have been stuck in the game since the Escalation of Freedom update, but they’re not quite as exciting as promising changes to your new favourite weapons. There’s still plenty to look forward to – now the only thing left to do is wait for the full patch notes for the game to drop tomorrow, and hope that the game doesn’t break in the process of the team trying to fix it.
